Provider Incentive Program
This is the home page for the TennCare Medicaid EHR Provider Incentive Payment Program (PIPP), as established under the HITECH Act of 2009. Here you will find links to additional information, FAQs, CMS, instructions, and other assistance to aid you in participating in the EHR Incentive program. Updated information will be provided as the Program matures. The link to the left, “EHR Incentive Program,” provides links to the following topics.
The information provided on this web site focuses on the TennCare Medicaid EHR Provider Incentive Payment Program. Eligible Professionals (EPs) must choose between participating in either the Medicare or the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. Eligible Hospitals (EHs) can receive payments from both programs if they enroll as dual eligible hospitals. Medicaid-only and children’s hospitals will receive their EHR incentive payment from TennCare.
If you have already attested for Adoption/Implementation/Upgrade (AIU), typically the first year of attestation, you most likely will want to go to Meaningful Use. This link provides information and direction on how to attest that you are using your certified EHR system in a meaningful way.
The CMS web site also has a lot of information and FAQs. However, it is very general in nature and you are more likely to find the answers you need here on TennCare’s web site. If you want information about attesting under the Medicare incentive program, you will need to go to CMS.
Current Payment Information
This table is updated weekly showing the number of EPs and EHs who are being paid and the amounts that have been paid through the EHR Provider Incentive Payment Program. As providers advance from AIU to meaningful use of their EHR systems, we expect both number of providers and the amounts rise. Haven’t enrolled yet? TennCare EHR Newsletter
On a semi-regular basis (usually monthly), TennCare publishes an electronic newsletter to bring you the latest information about the EHR Provider Incentive Payment Program. We also copy and paste some newsletters from CMS that we feel may be of interest to you. With the upcoming changes to the program by the Stage 2 Final Rule, this newsletter is our best and quickest way to communicate with providers.
