Do you need help setting up your account before you e-file for the first time?

Please follow these steps to file your business tax return and make a payment through Revenue's website. Click the link to view the directions to each step.

1. Locate Your Business Tax Account Number(s)

Electronically filing and paying your business tax return will require that you enter your business tax account number(s). If you have previously filed business tax with the Department of Revenue, the account number can be found at the top of your paper return.

If you are unsure whether you have an existing tax account number, please call the Department of Revenue's call center at (615) 253-0600 (Nashville-area and out-of-state) or (800) 342-1003 (statewide toll-free).

2. Obtain a User Name and Password

Once you have located your account number(s), the next step is to obtain a user name and password. This will allow you to electronically file and pay while protecting the privacy of the information you provide. To begin, go to the Account Management website.

3. File Your Return

Once you have obtained your user name and password, you are ready to file and make payments through the Business Tax Online Filing website. Instructions, tips and answers to frequently asked questions about electronic filing are also available on this site.
