ENERGY ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS |

Payments or allowances made under any federal laws for the purpose of energy assistance are excluded. These payments or allowances must be identified clearly as energy assistance by the legislative body authorizing the program or providing the funds. Among the federal payments that are excluded are energy assistance payments provided through: (a) Department of Health and Human Services’ Low Income Energy Assistance Program;
(b) Community Services Administration’s Energy Crisis Assistance and Crisis Intervention Programs; (d) Farmers Home Administration. Payments made through state or local funding are not excluded. Refer to Section 1240-1-4-.14-(2)-(f) to determine shelter costs for households receiving energy assistance payments. |
