11.7	PUBLIC OR PRIVATE AGENCY SPONSORS	Table of Contents
	Effective October 1, 1984, any alien under the sponsorship of a public or private agency/organization is not eligible to receive Families First within three years of entry into the country unless it is proven (and documented) that the agency is no longer in existence or has become unable to meet their sponsorship obligations to the alien. If the status of any sponsoring agency/organization cannot be verified at the local level, contact the State Office Policy Section. If it is determined that the agency is unable to meet their sponsorship obligations, determine the alien’s eligibility by following routine eligibility procedures.	Glossary
