Beginning January 2010, the Developmental Learning component of the Report Card and Rated Licensing program will be implemented. The observation documentation forms that will be used by directors are now available for review and can be found under Commonly Requested Licensing Forms

Developmental Learning
The revised Report Cards and Rated Licensing Rules have a new component: DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING. Beginning in January, 2010, an agency’s Star Rating will be partially based upon caregiver training in, and use of, developmental learning standards. There are two sets of standards --- The TNELDS are the standards which address the development of children from birth to school-age and can be found at: Click here to access the Tennessee School-Age Developmental Standards.

New Child Care Laws, Rules, Guidelines & Policies (Public Chapter 1070)
Beginning in 2009, Tennessee state law requires DHS to post or publicize any major changes to its child care licensing program.
