Robert 'Bob' Oglesby was appointed Commissioner of the Department of General Services by Governor Bill Haslam in August 2013. Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, Oglesby was appointed Tennessee's State Architect in 2011. His responsibilities as State Architect included serving as Chief of Staff to the State Building Commission and providing supervision over the State's building and land development projects.
Prior to his positions with the State, Oglesby held the position of president and served as a principal designer for EOA Architects in Nashville. He has more than 30 years of experience as a Tennessee licensed architect.
Oglesby earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He resides with his wife Vicki in Nashville. Their son Matt is a college student.
