Reen Locker Baskin currently serves as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer for the Department of General Services. In her role, Mrs. Baskin is responsible for the daily operations of the Department, which include development of its overall organizational structure and for the organization of positions within the various divisions. As Deputy Commissioner, she provides direct oversight to the internal Office of Human Resources, Postal Services, Printing and Media Services, the Office of Services Contracting and Commissioner's Support.
Before coming to the State, Mrs. Baskin worked as an attorney with Farris Mathews Bobango, PLC in Nashville. In 2011, Mrs. Baskin was recognized as one of Nashville's Top 30 under 30 Honorees by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She is a member of the Junior League of Nashville, the Tennessee State Museum Young Professional Council, the University of Tennessee Young Alumni Council, and the Nashville Bar Association.
Mrs. Baskin received the Torchbearer Award from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration. Mrs. Baskin went on to attend graduate school at Vanderbilt University where she received her Masters of Education in Organizational Leadership and continued to Nashville School of Law where she received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
Mrs. Baskin resides in Nashville and is married to Jamison Ryan Baskin.
