The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in cooperation with the National Park Service and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) developed several Tennessee State Parks in the 1930s: Cove Lake, Big Ridge, Harrison Bay, Pickwick Landing, Booker T. Washington, Paris Landing and Norris Dam. Located on the Norris Reservoir, Norris Dam began in 1933 as the first Tennessee Valley Authority project. Pictured here is a view of the 18th Century Rice's Grist Mill at Norris Dam.
