Section 1903 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires that each state educational agency that receives Title I funds must establish a committee of practitioners to advise the State in carrying out its responsibilities related to Title I. The membership of the committee shall include representatives as follows:
The duties of the committee are to review, before publication, any proposed or final State rule or regulation that is related to Title I.
In Tennessee, the committee meets about once a year. However, the State shares proposed rules, regulations, or amendments to its Accountability Workbook with the committee for review and input electronically.
