Innovation in Tennessee

Many successful, global companies were started right here in Tennessee by visionary entrepreneurs. We want to find the next FedEx or Hospital Corporation of America and help them start and grow their business in the Volunteer State.

To this end, Launch Tennessee, a public-private partnership, was created with the specific purpose of supporting the development of innovative, high-growth companies and fostering job growth.

LaunchTN is focused on four key areas:

  1. Entrepreneurship, including the oversight of nine regional business accelerators across the state;

  2. Commercialization, including the creation of new programs to aid businesses with the development of business plans and management teams centered around emerging technologies from research institutions;

  3. Capital, including partnering with the nine regional business accelerators and existing angel networks to foster angel investment across the state as well as organizing opportunities for out-of-state venture capital firms to interact with early-stage Tennessee companies seeking funding; and

  4. Outreach, including hosting sector-specific events that bring together entrepreneurs, mentors, researchers and investors from across the state and around the country.
