Tennessee residents are invited to join us for Spring Citizens' Correctional Academy. The academy is a four week, six session seminar designed to provide local citizens with an in-depth look at corrections and our efforts to enhance public safety. For additional information click here.

Public Notice

The Tennessee Department of Correction hereby gives public notice of a meeting to be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m. regarding the Tennessee Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision. The meeting will be held in the 5th floor conference room, Rachel Jackson Building, 320 6th Avenue North, Nashville, Tennessee.

    NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Department of Correction will hold a nursing and health care spring hiring event on Friday, March 20th, 2015 at Lois M. DeBerry Special Needs Facility in Nashville.  More than 20 nursing positions are currently open at DeBerry.  Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses are urged to attend.  Tours of the prison facility will be provided for applicants and interviews will be arranged for those who qualify. ...More

    WARTBURG - The Department of Correction is investigating an apparent homicide at the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg following an altercation between two inmates.  As a result of the altercation, 58-year-old inmate Edward Harris was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.   Harris was serving a life sentence for a 1986 homicide in Sevier County.  As with all in-custody deaths, other than natural causes, the Department will ask the TBI to assist in the investigation. ...More

The academy is a four week/six session program designed to give Tennesseans an in-depth look at the state’s largest law enforcement agency.     MURFREESBORO - The Tennessee Department of Correction is partnering with the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of Rutherford County and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservaton to hold a resource and information fair for ex-offenders. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with potential employers, and more than 30 organizations will be on hand to provide information and assistance with job training and placement, education, legal issues, health care and faith-based community support. Ex-offenders and their family members are encouraged to attend the fair, which is the first of its kind event for the Murfreesboro area. ...More
    STRATEGIC RESTRUCTURING PLAN INCLUDED IN TDOC BUDGET PRESENTATION

    NASHVILLE - On Friday, December 5th, Commissioner Derrick Schofield delivered the TDOC budget presentation to Governor Haslam. This proposal includes a portion of the TDOC long-term strategic vision that involves the closing of Charles Bass Correctional Complex. While shuttering CBCX will create a savings of more than $16.4 million for the state of Tennessee, the closing also accomplishes three milestones that are critical to the long term success of TDOC. ...More

Inclement Weather Conditions

Offenders who are required to report to probation/parole offices should contact the reporting office for possible closings due to inclement weather before traveling.  If you are unable to report to the office due to inclement weather, call the reporting office before your scheduled appointment time.
