Specialty Crop Block ItemsThe United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced the availability of grant funds to State Departments of Agriculture. Specialty Crop Block Grant (SCBG) Program-Farm Bill funds are authorized by the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (The Farm Bill). The purpose of the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) is to solely enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops, which are defined as fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, tree nuts, and nursery crops including floriculture.

2015 Proposal Deadline - May 8, 2015.

Universities, institutions, cooperatives, producers, industry or community-based organizations may submit a proposal for funding. Projects must directly impact multiple Tennessee producers. The purpose is to identify and support projects that are forward thinking with a positive, long lasting impact on Tennessee Agriculture.

How to Submit A Proposal

  • Proposals must be submitted by May 8, 2015 using the Tennessee SCBG online system. The online system will be available beginning April 15th, 2015. You can use the Project Template link below to review proposal questions and prepare for online submission.
  • Please use the timeline link below for additional deadlines.
  • Propsals must be be relevant to one of the approved Proposal Categories listed below.
